Energy efficiency certificate

It is the certificate issued by a competent technician that reflects the energy rating of the property and is mandatory for the sale or rental of flats, apartments or commercial premises since the entry into force of Royal Decree 253/2013 of 5 April. It is not necessary if the property:

• Has a useable area of less than 50 m2 and is located in an isolated area.
• Is an industrial building that is going to be used for workshops or the activity that takes place there.
• When it is purchased for demolition or to be subjected to a major refurbishment.
• When the rent is for a maximum of four months a year.
